Enter the world of Charles Darwin, shimmering with wonder and the excitement of discovery.

By David Morton

Following acclaimed seasons at London’s Natural History Museum and Sydney Festival, Brisbane’s Dead Puppet Society bring us this exceptional production, nominated for both Olivier and Helpmann Awards. Remarkable life-size puppets, cinematic projections and an evocative original score by Lior and Tony Buchen combine to retell the story of 22-year old scientific visionary Charles Darwin and his 5-year voyage on the HMS Beagle.

From the tiniest longhorn beetle to the majestic southern right whale and the ancient Galapagos tortoise – The Wider Earth brings to life creatures great and small, as we experience Darwin’s life-altering journey through the depths of the Amazon rainforest, the dizzying heights of the Andes, and the wonders of the Galapagos Islands.

Take a journey alongside the curious young naturalist in this visually stunning coming-of-age story about science, faith and a questioning heart.
