LAUGH UNTIL THE TEARS ROLL DOWN YOUR CHEEKS
“A fabulous night of nonsense and brilliance” Stagenoise
The Wharf Revue’s irresistible blend of vitriol and vaudeville returns. Jonathan Biggins, Drew Forsythe and Phillip Scott turn their delightfully poisonous gaze on the antics of our indignitaries, past and present – but mostly present. Phillip Scott’s virtuosity on piano contributes to the feeling that this is “like Gilbert and Sullivan on speed.” (Stagenoise)
If there’s one thing that a federal election year brings, it’s a smorgasbord of satirical goodies. There’ll be minor party pies, red meat, blue cheese and don’t forget your greens. More than enough food for thought.
The Wharf Revue has become a Canberra institution. Its superbly delivered political satire gives the audience a chance to let off steam. We’ve all had a year of closely observing the truth that is stranger than fiction in Parliament House. Now, our not so revered leaders are centre stage: dancing, singing, wearing crazy wigs and misbehaving in a humourous tour de force. Don’t miss it – we all need a good laugh.
