The success of 2012’s Private Lives shows that Canberra loves Coward. With this in mind, Canberra Theatre Centre could not possibly pass up this international production of Brief Encounter.

Switching seamlessly between live theatre and film footage, Kneehigh Theatre’s production takes audiences back to a bygone age of romance and the silver screen. This extraordinary retelling of Brief Encounter, which was a David Lean classic 1945 film, starring Trevor Howard and Celia Johnson , has been a hit on both Broadway and the West End.

Using the songs of Noël Coward, you will be taken on a breathtaking, funny and tear-inducing ride with live musicians on stage, characters jumping in and out of film screens, and a couple so in love that they literally float on air.
